Colour Photos from the 1930's and 1940's

Somehow America seems to be light years ahead of us in the UK when it comes to releasing information into the public domain. For example, the Library of Congress has released 1615 colour photographs onto Flickr and not put any copyright restrictions on them to encourage their viewing and distribution.
